Mozart by Candlelight

Join your Monroe Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Philip Mann for a special Valentine's Evening of "Mozart by Candlelight."  Make plans to Enjoy a romantic dinner and then head to First Methodist Church of Monroe for an evening of energy, verve, and connection. 

 

The program features Mozart's festive and fiery "Haffner Symphony," along with two very special additions:  Rising talent and MSO Emerging Artist Competition Winner Po-Yu Fang. Fang offers his compelling rendition of the virtuoso "Concerto for Double Bass" by Botticini.  Next, you'll experience a bit of Creole magic with the first outside commission of a world premier work in MSO's history:  Alan Theisen's evocative work "Gris Gris" for solo clarinet at orchestra, featuring MSO principal clarinet, Scot Humes.
