April Artist - Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots:
Bruce Sunpie Barnes has cultivated a blend of zydeco, blues, and African rhythms. Sunpie was a member of the Paul Simon Band and has graced stages around the world as a multi- instrumentalist. Beyond music, Sunpie is an author, photographer, former Chief's NFL player, and National Park service Ranger. He is deeply involved in New Orleans Mardi Gras parade culture as the Big Chief for one of the
oldest Afro-Creole carnival groups in the U.S. Sunpie has family in Mer Rouge so he
occasionally visits north Louisiana.
