The 70th Annual Louisiana Peach Festival was scheduled for the 4th Saturday and the preceding Friday in June, as it has been done for years. 2020, AKA The Unprecedented Year, brought with it many changes. As most of the country shut down and took a back seat to COVID19, eventually decisions had to be made. With discussion among the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors, it was clear that a cancellation or a postponement must be imposed due to the pandemic ruling our world. After talks with the scheduled entertainers, coordinators, the City of Ruston and other invaluable people and organizations, a new date of October 24, 2020 was deemed workable. The vote was cast and PEACHtober 2020 was born. Though this year's event will be scaled down to one day and unfortunately be past the season for fresh peaches, we look forward to a great fall time, with more centralized activities and presumably much cooler than our usual June weather! Peaches do look a little like pumpkins, right?! PEACHtober will include concerts, a variety of food vendors, hay mazes, antique car show, virtual 5K, tennis tournament, kids' fishing tournament, rodeo and more.
