AT&T Helps Close Digital Divide across Monroe and West Monroe

Continuing our efforts to close the digital divide and connect people wherever they live and work, AT&T* is expanding our superfast fiber network to serve hundreds more residential and small business locations in the twin cities. Additionally, AT&T has expanded its 5G network in West Monroe giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. We’ve added a new site off Winnfield Road in West Monroe to enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network. The new cell site also enhances Band 14 coverage for area first responders who use FirstNet.

Today, customers have access to AT&T Fiber in many parts of communities across Monroe and West Monroe, and the service is helping families and businesses stay connected.

"There is no question that these continuing investments from AT&T are having a positive impact on our community, and I particularly appreciate how our business community is working together as businesses large and small are benefitting from the connectivity being provided by AT&T,” said Roy Heatherly, president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.

The expanded network will give more customers access to super-fast home internet speeds up to 5-Gigs.  You can sign up to be notified when AT&T Fiber is available to your address through att.com/notifyme.

“These investments are vital for our community. They are helping students stay connected, expanding telehealth opportunities, and simply making our communities more attractive to business and residential growth,” said Kristopher Kelley, president of the West Monroe Chamber of Commerce.

AT&T is committed to connecting more Americans to reliable, high-speed broadband internet in several ways, including expanding and upgrading our network and participating in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP provides eligible households with a benefit of up to $30 a month (up to $75 on qualifying Tribal lands) to reduce the cost of broadband service and can be applied to AT&T Fiber or Access from AT&T, offering internet speeds of up to 100Mbps, where available, for $0. After confirming ACP eligibility, those who qualify can go to att.com/getacp or call us at 8.66.986.0963 to sign up for service.  Have your ACP application ID handy.

At the same time, we are connecting with community organizations that are also focused on closing the digital divide and strengthening our communities. We were proud to join the Boy and Girls Clubs of North Louisiana to donate laptops and backpacks full of school supplies to area families.

“We are continually working to help close the digital divide by expanding our fiber footprint, and we are passionate about serving the communities where we work and live,” said Matt Adams, Director, AT&T Louisiana. “We are leading the way in Louisiana, and we are committed to investing in the modern, high-speed network infrastructure necessary in today’s economy.”

Our commitment to Louisiana communities: From 2020 to 2022, we invested more than $1.3 billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Louisiana. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
