CONSTITUTION DAY AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

The Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum has a fun, educational opportunity for visitors on Constitution Day, September 17.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. The museum will welcome two school groups to engage in learning about our Constitution and celebrate the Freedoms that Our Founding Fathers secured for us. A voting booth will be on site and one very important topic to be voted on is favorite cookie.  While the chocolate chip appears to be the clear favorite, voters have been leaning towards the sugar cookie in recent lunch boxes!

An exhibit on loan from the private library of Judge Wendell Manning will include replicas of The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. In addition, Judge Manning will participate in a demonstration on “the importance of laws” for our school groups and museum visitors.

The Children’s Museum would like to thank Nancy Landry and the Louisiana Secretary of State office, Registrar of Voters, and the Ouachita Parish Women’s Republican Club for providing the voting booth and coloring books.

Media, local, and state officials are welcome beginning at 9:30 am until noon.
