Coming up July 28th in Downtown West Monroe — Kent Burnside and his band! The Burnside name is synonymous with the blues. Grandson of blues legend R.L. Burnside, Kent is blazing his own trail in the Hill Country Blues scene performing high-energy blues shows around the world. He plays his grandfather’s hits and many of his own originals. Kent and his band are sure to set your soul on fire while giving the audience a glimpse into real blues history!
Ouachita Live concerts are free. Food trucks and spirits will be on-site. Bring a chair! See you July 28th from 7-9pm in Alley Park (corner of Trenton and Natchitoches Streets).
Thanks to this month’s sponsors: Louisiana Lottery Corporation, Hamilton House Inn, KEDM Public Radio, City of West Monroe. This concert is also being made possible in part by funding from the Lower Mississippi Delta Initiative, a grant program administered by the National Parks Service and Jefferson National Parks Association. As a result of this grant, four Ouachita Live concerts have a focus on blues from the Delta. Educational activities are also being hosted in the South Riverfront Cultural District with assistance from the Ouachita River Blues Society.
