26th ANNUAL GARDEN SYMPOSIUM AND PLANT SALE
GARDEN SYMPOSIUM
Friday, April 22 from 9am to 3pm
Speakers will include Norman Kent Johnson, who is a native of Monroe and works as a highly successful landscape architect. Johnson will use his experience and expertise to push you to think big.
Neil Odenwald and Frances Davidson will discuss gardening on a smaller scale. This tag team presentation will look at container gardening. Symposium favorite Neil Odenwald will address various design issues. Biedenharn Museum & Gardens Horticulturist Frances Davidson will discuss potted plants, a big issue in smaller gardens, which we encounter in various living situations like condos, apartments and larger houses on smaller plots in new and more crowded developments.
Author Patty Roper will present a program on creating beautiful and fun tablescapes with innovative decorating ideas and details. She will share ideas for the entire entertaining process from invitation to the celebration to the memories made in the process as well as easy and delicious recipes and special presentations.

PLANT SALE

The plant sale will feature a number of vendors, including, Treesearch and Louisiana Tech. The Monroe Garden Study League's individual Caladiums bulbs will be available for purchase. The Bidenharn Museum will be pre-selling Peggy Martin Roses at the Museum store or by phone at 318-387-5281. Two sizes are available: Two gallons for $27 and 7 gallons for $70.
