Brown Bag Concert Series - Each Wednesday in September
The first concert will be held Wednesday September 3rd and continue each Wednesday at noon for all 4 Wednesdays in September! September 3rd will feature the Tawanna Tarvin, September 10th will feature Great Scott, September 17th will feature Austin Forsythe, and September 24th will feature Josh Madden.
Brown Bag Lunch Concerts are held every Wednesday in September from noon to 1 p.m. at the Pavilion at Seventh Square in West Monroe, located directly behind the West Monroe Farmer’s Market.
The West Monroe Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series is presented by WMWO Chamber of Commerce and the City of West Monroe in partnership with Emily Nunnelee State Farm, McGuire Methodist Church, Paramount Healthcare Consultants, Homeland Bank, The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council, Newk’s Eatery, 90.3 KEDM, and the Ouachita Parish School System. Artists coordinated by Music City Studios – Northeast Louisiana’s Premier Recording Studio.
The concerts are free to the general public. Newk's Eatery will be selling bagged lunches on site which include a half sandwich, bag of chips and half dessert. Lunches are sold on a first come, first served basis. Attendees may also bring a brown bag lunch while they enjoy various musical performances. Chairs and complimentary beverages and desserts will be provided by the sponsors. The Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series will continue in West Monroe with a Fall Series on Wednesdays in September.

Tawanna Tarvin:
Evangelist Tawanna Tarvin is from Monroe, Louisiana. She is a Singer, Songwriter, Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sought after Motivational Speaker, Psalmist & Vocal Coach. Her desire is to win lost souls to Jesus Christ. She encourages and motivates through the Music Ministry God has called her to. She was born to Worship and called for something far greater and bigger than herself. She understands this life is not about her, it’s about the love you give to others and the difference you make in being a light in this dark cold world. Her hope is that through her music and ministry that people will experience God’s love, faith, hope, peace and joy. By her being a witness to who God is and has been in her life will undoubtedly persuade others to freely come to Jesus Christ. She knows that only what you do for Christ will last. She has musical content on YouTube and Facebook. Tawanna has music available on all music platforms.

Great Scott:
GREAT SCOTT is the musical duo of guitarist/vocalist Dennis Scott and bassist Jeff Hollis, blending the heartfelt storytelling of classic country with the groove and sophistication of rock. Influenced by artists ranging from Merle Haggard and Hank Williams, Sr. to Steely Dan and Pink Floyd, their sound bridges tradition and innovation with ease.
Armed with acoustic guitar, upright bass, and electric bass, Dennis and Jeff create performances that are as dynamic as they are engaging. Known for their easy chemistry and lively audience interaction, they turn every show into a shared experience.
Off stage, Dennis runs a successful electrical contracting business, while Jeff is a retired telecommunications engineer. Together, they bring the same dedication, precision, and authenticity from their professional lives into their music — making GREAT SCOTT defined by heart, groove, and connection.
Austin Forsythe:
Austin Forsythe, 31 years old originally from New Orleans, LA has been performing and writing music since the age of 16. He moved to the Ouachita area 7 years ago and has recently gotten back into his craft. His influences are vast from alt rock, R&B, indie, country, and more. He's recently released 2 Christian Acoustic EPs entitled Addicts Letter Parts 1 & 2 based off his struggles in addiction and how God has gotten him through. They are available wherever music is listened to!
Josh Madden:
Josh Madden is a North Louisiana musician, music teacher, and event producer. He has been playing regularly for more than two decades, performing live at venues and social functions throughout the region. His musical influences are Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, and Elton John on the piano, and Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Dave Matthews on guitar. With a repertoire of several hundred songs in all types of genres, he is sure to please crowds of all ages! After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2003 with a degree in Mass Communications, he began teaching guitar and piano lessons in 2004. He also worked at KEDM Public Radio for several years where he hosted his show 'The Set List.’ He co-founded the nonprofit music and theatrical production company Josh Madden Productions in 2023 and they will already be producing their 10th event this December with ‘A Christmas Story’ at 111 Cotton in downtown West Monroe.
