Building an Inclusive Workforce: When Diversity Looks Different

Goodwill Industries in partnership with Northeast Delta Human Services Authority will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, April 13^th to inform employers of the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.  

We will hold an afternoon webinar addressing diversity in employment. The webinar will focus on the opportunities for businesses that exist when they tap into the under-utilized and ready to work talent pool that exists with the people we support. Guest speakers from the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs and from Lighthouse Louisiana will share information on the reasons businesses should consider employment of people with disabilities including the benefits and barriers of tapping in to this employee talent pool. The event will incorporate a reverse job fair component featuring people who are enrolled in PIE and seeking employment in NELA as well as “employed” spotlight showcasing one of the people who has been assisted, through PIE, to become employed.
