MSO Pops Concert: The Music of Elton John & Billy Joel

What do you get when you combine the dynamic sounds of Monroe Symphony Orchestra (MSO) and the legendary music of Elton John and Billy Joel? You get an evening of great entertainment! Join us Saturday, February 13, as the MSO presents, “Modern Classics: The Music of Elton John and Billy Joel.” There are two ways to enjoy this concert. Sit at a table for eight with your friends. You provide the party and we’ll provide the entertainment. Bring your favorite foods and libations to enjoy during the concert. You may also choose to sit in the general admission seating area. There will also be a table decorating contest so you can channel your inner Rocket or Piano Man. 

You’ll hear an array of music from these iconic entertainers performed with the live orchestra such as Movin’ Out, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Piano Man, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, and many more. The combination of classic rock and the symphony music pair perfectly together because of these memorable melodies. 

Vocalists joining the MSO will be Krista Bettevy from American Idol 15, local favorite Josh Madden, and Chase Miller who performed as Joe Cable in South Pacific iIn Concert. Also performing with the orchestra will be Julian Jones on the piano, Bach Norwood on bass, and Larry Anderson on drums.
