The City of West Monroe has partnered with Nashville recording artists and local musicians Jordan and Stacey Sheppard to organize a free community concert, Alley Summer Jam, presented by Elloree Guitars. The concert will take place in Downtown West Monroe’s Alley Park on Friday, August 11, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Alley Summer Jam will feature Jordan and Stacey Sheppard performing with their band the Cypress Knees. A food truck will be on-site and spirits will be available for purchase from downtown restaurants. Attendees are asked to bring a chair to enjoy the show.
Jordan and his wife Stacey Sheppard are currently working with Kent Wells, producer and lead guitarist for Dolly Parton for 35 years. Jordan was also recently recognized by Nashville Songwriters Association International as “One to Watch,” a prestigious recognition for promising songwriters on the rise. The Sheppards have recently finished a new album of originals which they plan to pitch to record labels on Music Row.
This is not the first time Jordan has organized a community concert. In 2021, he coordinated a Hurricane Ida relief concert, “Rock and Relief,” in downtown West Monroe. More than $6,100 was raised for the United Way’s Embrace Louisiana hurricane relief efforts.
City of West Monroe’s Main Street Director Adrienne LaFrance-Wells hopes the concert will encourage people to gather downtown. “We are excited to work with Jordan once again on this free downtown show. Jordan and Stacey are extremely generous to organize this event for our community. It’s nice to work with artists who appreciate the value of giving back by sharing their talent. Jordan is going places but isn’t forgetting his northeast Louisiana roots that helped shape him into the musician he is today.”
The concert is being made possible by the following sponsors: Elloree Guitars, Paramount Healthcare, Walsworth and Company, City of West Monroe, Great Minds Communication, River City Nutrition, Spa Nouvelle.
