The Little Library at Kiroli Ribbon Cutting
Ouachita Parish Public Library Announces Ribbon Cutting of Smallest Libraries… Ever!
West Monroe, La.-
The Ouachita Parish Public Library and the City of West Monroe Parks and Recreation Department have announced the Grand Opening of the first “Little Free Libraries” in Ouachita Parish. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at Kiroli Park in West Monroe Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Little Library location at the Draper Gazebo, across from the field and next to the A-Frame. Admission to the park will be waived for those who attend.
Local craftsman Johnny Cascio designed, built, and donated all hand-cut materials for the libraries. Each has a unique look and character. Kiroli Park has installed three “Little Libraries”, and Restoration Park will have one location. These tiny structures (about the size of a large birdhouse) will house 40-50 books. Those who wish can take a book, or leave a book for others. There are no charges to participate. All locations will be registered with LittleFreeLibraries.org.
Those who attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony are encouraged to donate free or like-new books to the program. Directions to the ceremony will be available at the Kiroli Park gate prior to the event.
