POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of Pulpmill Services’ vehicles and machines.
Responsibilities - The position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to the following key functions:
Essential Functions
- Maintain large, medium and small lathes, mills, drill presses and other related machine shop equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on large, medium and small lathes, mills, drill presses and other related machine shop equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance on fleet vehicles, forklifts, carry deck cranes and goose neck trailers.
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Willing to learn and perform other tasks and duties as needed.

- Ability to provide accurate information to co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail and/or in person.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in written form or verbally so that instructions can be followed with minimal chance of error.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to prioritize and make changes as needed.
- Possess good communication and people skills.
- Display good attitude conducive to a shop environment.
- Be able to think quickly and critically in response to scope changes on small to large equipment.
- Ability to recognize when a sense of urgency is needed.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member with other personnel.
Required education and experience
- Experience as a mechanic.
- Experience working with all types of shop equipment.
Preferred education and experience
- Prefer 4+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
Additional eligibility requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State Issued ID.
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
