Ouachita Parish Schools hosted its annual Student of the Year Luncheon, sponsored by Centric Federal Credit Union on Monday, Nov. 19 at ULM's Bayou Pointe. CommuniHealth, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and ULM were also sponsors of the room-filled gathering. Students of the Year from 34 schools were in attendance representing fifth grade, eighth grade and twelfth grade students. A University of Louisiana Monroe aviation student has gained national exposure after being featured on the cover of the Fall 2024 edition of AviNation, a magazine that exists to attract, educate, and empower youth in aviation.
