City of West Monroe and partners to host Fall Youth Fitness Day Oct. 16

The City of West Monroe invites the community to participate in a Fall Youth Fitness Day on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Highland Park Wetland Trails in West Monroe.

Fall Youth Fitness Fun Day will take place during the Ouachita Parish School System’s Fall Break on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Highland Park Wetland Trails at the Otis Street parking lot.

The City of West Monroe is teaming up with the staff of The Wellness Center and the West Monroe Sports & Events facility to offer outdoor exercise equipment demonstrations and fun fitness challenges for youth. The morning will include visits with the West Monroe Police Department and West Monroe Fire Department and other fun activities. Kona Ice will be on site with snowcones for sale. Volunteers will be on hand to demonstrate how to use outdoor fitness equipment that was recently installed along the trail at Highland Park, made possible by a grant from the Living Well Foundation.

This event is free and open to people of all ages. Children will be invited to play games, and attendees are encouraged to bring their bicycles or scooters to ride along the trail.
