City of West Monroe to host Veterans Day Program November 8

The public is invited to attend a program to honor our veterans this Friday, Nov. 8. 
 

The program will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. at the Blue Star Memorial, located in the First West Thrift Store parking lot in West Monroe. 
 

The program will honor all veterans, particularly those who are City of West Monroe employees. All are welcome to attend this event. 
 

Guest speaker will be City of West Monroe Alderman and retired U.S. Navy Commander Thom Hamilton. During his Navy career, he served as a Cryptologic Electronics Maintenance technician. After pursuing his nursing degree, he served in the military as a Peri-operative nurse and served at numerous Naval hospitals, deployed to a humanitarian mission to Indonesia and to New York City in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Commander Hamilton retired from the military in September after 29 years of service.
