Discover Monroe-West Monroe welcomes Kenya Ross as the tourist bureau’s newest public relations and media coordinator!
Kenya joined the bureau on Jan. 6, 2025, after working as a TV journalist and digital content producer in the broadcast news industry for seven years. She began her news career in 2018 at KTBS 3 News in Shreveport and made her exit from KNOE 8 News the day after New Year’s Day 2025.
Prior to working in local television, Kenya took on communications internships at ARCO, A Community Resource and North Louisiana Economic Partnership.
Ouachita Parish is home to Kenya. She’s a Neville Tiger and ULM Warhawk.
“I have so much excitement to share our parish’s attractions and convention/meeting accommodations with our visitors through storytelling and outside travel writers. My family roots are deeply established in the backyard of Ouachita Parish through our generational farmland. While I have family roots planted in the parish, I want to help visitors plant their feet here when they eat, shop, or explore,” said DMWM’s newest public relations and media coordinator Kenya Ross.
Kenya is a member of the Online News Association, Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing, and Zeta Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She also serves on the executive board for a national nonprofit organization called Brown Girls Do Ballet.
