Discover Monroe-West Monroe Announces 5th Annual MWM Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Discover Monroe-West Monroe (DMWM) is bringing back its pumpkin decorating contest to Ouachita Parish!
The 5th Annual MWM Pumpkin Decorating Contest will take place starting Wednesday, Oct. 1 through Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025. Individuals, businesses, or organizations throughout Ouachita Parish can carve, decorate, or paint their pumpkins.
This year’s theme is Spooky Sports Tourism. The decorated pumpkin can represent any sport that participants choose. DMWM is encouraging participating pumpkin artists to decorate around the spirit of wheelchair basketball to celebrate the National Wheelchair Basketball Championships that’s coming to the Twin Cities in March 2026.
Participants of the contest are instructed to drop off their completed pumpkins at DMWM’s office between Oct. 1 – Oct. 29, 2025, during business hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Winners will be announced on Halloween 2025. All participants who turn in a pumpkin will receive a small prize.
