The Center for Children & Families Welcomes Dr. Matt Nappier as New CEO

The Center for Children & Families is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Matt Nappier as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over two decades of military, higher education, and community leadership experience, Dr. Nappier brings a proven track record of service, strategy, and team development to the organization’s mission of promoting safe, healthy environments for children and families.

Dr. Nappier retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service, including deployment to Afghanistan, where he served in operations, recruiting, training, and readiness. Following his military career, he transitioned into higher education at Louisiana Delta Community College, serving as Director of Workforce Education and Recruitment and later as Director of Strategic Assessment, Planning, and Initiatives. His career has also been marked by entrepreneurship, pastoral leadership, and nonprofit board service.

“This role represents the convergence of my life’s work. It’s not just a job—it’s a calling,” said Dr. Nappier. “I am deeply inspired by The Center’s sacred mission, and I look forward to empowering our team, building a resilient future, and amplifying the incredible stories of hope and healing happening here every day.”

Dr. Nappier’s vision for The Center includes strengthening its role as a leader in child and family well-being, ensuring financial resilience, cultivating a culture that attracts top talent, and serving as a strong advocate for children and families in Northeast Louisiana. His first 90 days will focus on a “Listen, Learn, and Align” process, including one-on-one meetings with staff, board members, and community partners.

Board President, Dr. Margot Eason, and Transition Committee Chairperson and Board Member, Stewart Mondry, shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nappier to The Center. His servant leadership style, strategic expertise, and personal connection to our mission make him the right leader to guide us into the future.”
Dr. Nappier and his wife, Malissa, live in Union Parish with their five children. A former business owner, Bible scholar, and avid traveler, he brings both professional expertise and personal passion to his role as CEO.
