West Monroe Recycling Center to open expanded facility, beginning February 10

The West Monroe Recycling Center is proud to announce it is moving to an expanded facility and will open to the public on Monday, Feb. 10.

The expanded facility is located at 607 Grantham Avenue in West Monroe. The current facility at 409 Lincoln Street will no longer be a drop-off location for recyclable materials.

The expanded facility is made possible through an EPA “SWIFR” grant awarded last year to the City of West Monroe. The grant was awarded to the city for the expansion of recycling services in the community.

The expanded recycling center will be open for drop-off by the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Items that can be dropped off at the facility are:
Plastics 1 and 2, cardboard, aluminum, metal, foil and glass.

Please be advised of an additional collection schedule for the month of February:

The recycling center’s mobile trailer will be located in the front parking lot of West Monroe City Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items collected on these days will be cardboard and plastic water bottles only.

The trailer will be located in downtown West Monroe every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the public parking lot at the corner of Trenton and Wood Streets. Items collected on this day will be carboard, plastic water bottles, aluminum cans and glass.
